Singer Bobbin Case Review

Of course I needed it right away and opt to buy the metal which cost more but would hold up longer. I waited a couple of weeks to get it. I recieved the plastic $3.00 one instead of the $16 metal one I paid for. Now Im diappointed and wasted so much time and is short of time to finish up my projects

40 Large Spools Embroidery Threads for Brother Machine - 500 Meters Spools Review

(More customer reviews)The thread ad was a little deceptive. They advertised as thread for Brother machines, which it isn't exactly. They never would give me a definite yes or no on the thread being made for Brother by Brother. I specifically asked them that and they said they had not had any negative responses from Brother owners. That wasn't what the ad stated. It stated thread for Brother machines. The best I could find out was, that it was made in India, but they wouldn't specifically say it was made by Brother for Brother machines. When I received it, at first I was a little disappointed, then I e-mailed them and they told me to give a few spools a try and if I wasn't completely satisfied with it, I could return it and they would refund my money. I thought that was reasonable and gave it a try and it stitched out beautifully. So I thanked them and kept the thread. The only problem was breakage, it seems a little weak, but using a large eyed embroidery needle took care of that.They told me to adjust my tensions on my machine, but I didn't need to touch the tensions by using the larger eyed embroidery needle. Overall, it's basically good thread, beautiful colors and shine to it.

Hemline Two-Bag Trolley Set Review

(More customer reviews)I have a small house, and I do not have my own sewing room (bummer); so, storage is a major hassle for me. I do not like hard vinyl sewing machine cases (they are just ugly and not all machines fit in all cases - I know, I got stuck with a few). I have to keep my machine and sewing supplies in my living room; so, I was THRILLED when I found a beautiful sewing machine case - with an extra bag (which holds everything - or it can even be used to carry my laptop if I am traveling, or act as a piece of luggage). This second piece holds any extra supplies, tools, or "works in progress". I LOVE THIS SET!
Reasons to buy this Trolley Set are numerous, but for me, here are my top two:
1. It's very attractive, and I bought the burgundy set since it blended in with my furniture (ok, not a great reason for seasoned seamstresses, but for me it was!);
2. This set is HUGE! I can safely store my old Baby-Lock 1550 in there, plus my coordinating canvas thread case, which can also found at JoAnn Fabrics. This extra thread case (purchased separately for about $15) holds about 20 spools of thread, plus: my bobbin collection, scissors, etc. AND it as several "see-thru" pockets to store other things, too.
The Trolley Set is FULL of hidden pockets (and it's extremely well-cushioned with added support panels to keep my machine safe) to store all kinds of stuff and STILL has room for my cutting mats (behind my sewing machine, where I also keep my thread case).
Honestly, I can put EVERYTHING I need inside the one wheeled bag alone, and the extra bag is a "gift" to hold everything else.
When I go over to a friend's house to sew, I have EVERYTHING right at my fingertips; plus, I look good when traveling, too. At home, the trolley set is very convenient and also helps to keep me organized.
I LOVE THIS PRODUCT! I'd very highly recommend it to anyone (even if they DO have a very nice, large, and elaborate sewing room).
For me, I call this "my portable sewing room" and I LOVE IT!
Just a final comment: There are "other bags" out there that MAY LOOK like this... but Hemline's superior design and construction set it WORLD'S APART. Never compromise!
Buy it - you'll be glad you did!!

(More customer reviews)I followed the instructions precisely, but the back paper did not peel off properly when working with a cotton T-shirt. Perhaps, this product works well with other materials, but it certainly is not easy to use with
cotton T-shirts.
The problem I found was that when I ironed for the recommended 180 seconds, the back paper became fused to the front of the T-shirt and would not peel off without ripping up the image. When I ironed for less than the recommended time, the image was not transferred properly.

I broke my shank trying to get it on and now I have to buy a new shank as well as the correct presser foot. And the sewing project I am working on is on an even longer delay, very inconvenient.

Then pop out the disk, pull, and voilà, a pretty little yo-yo to decorate something with. I'm using mine to make a soft fabric doll for my daughter. The package comes with a little insert of ideas to use the yo-yo. Don't be fooled by the size, though, this extra large makes a yo-yo only about two inches wide when finished.

I picked up a dozen of them at a library sale and I'm always looking for more. They were part of a subscription series. They are well illustrated with clean clear pictures and straightforward instructions. Whether one is an experienced sewer or an amateur just getting started, each one of these books is priceless. They include buttonholes, zippers, stitching, collars, how to read a pattern, how to set up a home sewing area, which thread to buy- just about everything anyone would need to become a competent home sewer. If you see one anywhere, buy it. Unfortunately, this particular one- "Sewing for Children", I already own. Always looking for more.

Brother SA127 5mm Narrow Hem Foot Review

(More customer reviews)I bought this (and the distinctive narrow hem foot which is the same thing so stay away from that too imo)and tried to use it on anything. It will only work on lightweight fabrics and even then the stitching is hard to look uniform. The stitches look wonky and the hem is incredibly small (5mm or less). I decided to just go for it and get the "distinctive" rolled hem foot set which has seven different and USEFUL sized hems (like 1/4" and 5/8", etc.)and give you a chance to keep those hems clean and professional looking. It is $50 for the set, but i am so much happier to have hemming feet that actually work!
