(More customer reviews)We got this grinder as a gift from my mother in law. She brought it here from India in 2006. The grinder worked really well for the first few years. There was only one issue. The dough sometimes seeps through the center shaft to the motor base bringing with it a little bit of oil/grease used to lubricate the stainless steel drum turning parts. It can grind almost dry (for methu vada) or wet as in dosha or idli dough. The stainless steel drum can be easily removed and cleaned.
It stopped working today. The motor is functioning. The upper shaft does not turn. On turning the upper shaft several times while the motor was turned on, it worked again. Perhaps, it is in its final stages of dying.
Overall good grinder at a reasonable price. If the quality control is the same across its assembly line, it will perform for at least 4 years.
