Nostalgia RVM-560 Retro-Style 18-Can Vending Machine Review

This is a resurrection of the 'Ice 3' vending machine a few years ago. That machine lasted about a year before I had to replace the small internal fan. I decided to buy this one because it's a fun little machine that the kids enjoy getting their drinks without them opening the refrigerator door all the time. And, it looks cool. I'm hoping this one will last longer than the 'Ice 3' since the mechanics look identical.
I also have a Koolatron Vending fridge at my office. The Koolatron keeps the drinks colder but it only holds 10 cans, two in a holding area that you can only get to if you open the machine. I'm always running out of drinks and it seems i'm always opening up the door.
I like the Koolatron as far as it keeps the drinks colder but I like the Nostalgia because you can load 18 cans at once.
PROS: Looks, Holds 18-cans
CONS: Cans could be colder.

The Tabletop Cotton Candy Maker. Review

The Tabletop Cotton Candy Maker.

We decided to buy a cotton candy machine for my son who because of a rare disease cannot eat anything other than sugar and a special formula. We thought it would be fun for him to have cotton candy as a treat but didn't want one of the really expensive professional ones. We ended up choosing this one as I've had problems before with other cheap cotton candy machines. We made the right choice! This is a great machine. It doesn't make the huge amounts of cotton candy that a big machine makes but is awesome for the sizes we want and works well every time.

This is the tabletop machine that spins ordinary table sugar into cotton candy, providing quick relief for those seeking to satisfy a sweet tooth. The machine is easy and safe enough for even children to operate--simply add sugar to the heating chamber and in just minutes it produces wisps of feathery confection that you can collect on a chopstick or straw (add food coloring to the sugar to create a colorful treat). The red bowl, plastic shield, and sugar container are removable for easy cleaning. Includes sugar measuring scoop. Plugs into AC.

Sababa Snoopy Sno Cone Machine - Classic Review

Sababa Snoopy Sno Cone Machine - Classic

I had such fond memories of this toy. I remember my Mom using ours on our front porch. My friends and I were all lined up with dixie cups and we all got a Snoopy sno-cone dessert. My Mom used it a few times after that, and then I never saw it again. I now know why!!!!
As a parent, you find out why your parents said "no" when you asked for things, etc. This Snoopy sno-cone maker was one of those things you need to experience yourself to find out why your parents always said "not now, maybe later".
I will say this, this definitely looks like the sno-cone maker we had. The plastic isn't as thick as the original, but everything looks the same. It's all there, the mini shovel, the Peanuts characters awaiting the shaved ice to come out..... well...
I was so excited when I found this today, I bought it for myself really. My daughter didn't seem excited until she figured out what it was all about. But boy oh boy, what hard work!!! It takes a lot of churning of one ice cube, and it just takes forever to get some sno to come out. It's a real bummer. Luckily I was only making this for my older daughter or I would have had one angry crowd. My arms were killing me and I barely made a serving. I did find as the ice cubes started to melt a little that it worked better, but it was just so hard to keep churning. I might never use this toy again. My Mom's advice was to freeze the juice/kool-aid in the ice cube trays instead of plain ice, she remembers that working more easily. I did try it, and it does. Still, a lot of work.
That being said, yes it's just a toy, so I am actually looking into getting an electric sno cone maker because the results of the Snoopy one are delicious, but tiring.
