My Double Deluxe Dress Form - Medium Review

I bought this dressform on sale for $129.99. It is an excellent value for that price, however, I feel as though the stand and the adjustment controls should both be sturdier to completely justify the full retail price which is why I gave it four rather than five stars. I'm using a base from a discarded office chair for my dressform which works perfectly to solve the light weight base issue. The flimsy adjustment controls would not be any sort of problem for a home user but I would have some concern about how they would hold up for someone who sews for others and would need to make frequent adjustments.
I did find the bust on the dressform to be two inches too low but I was easily able to correct this by putting one of my bras on the form and stuffing it with batting. This solution could be a bit problematic for someone who wears an A or B sized cup. It is my understanding that the Dritz Twinfit has a higher bustline if that is an issue.
By using the dressform's adjustment controls and using some quilt batting I was able to get a remarkably accurate double of my body in a surprisingly short amount of time. I can't overstate how much faster and easier the dressform has made fitting. My only regret is that I didn't buy one years ago.
Debbie Cook has written a comprehensive review of this dressform on Pattern Review which includes valuable how to-information. Dritz My Double Dressform - Petite (20075) Review

i bought this product rushedly. that was a mistake on my part. this sewing dummy does not have the average shape of a woman.
for women with wide ribcages and small breasts, wide hips but no [...], this is for you. i am NOT in anyway downtalking women like that. i am simply saying that this dummy was made for women of that body type. i do not have that body type and when i started making clothes acording to this dummy, my clothes were turning out to hardly fit me right at all. not to mention that the dummy does not have a natural curving body. when to the side, it is straight as a board. the natural human body has a dip in the lower back and then curves back out to where your [...] is. not this dummy, though. just straight down. big disappointment
but other than that there is more bad things to add about this dummy
it is not well made. the quality is low. after i adjusted the dummy just a couple of times, the top of the dummy started to detatch from the pole and therefore making the torso completely uneven. the adjusting system is VERY bad quality
i have to use duct tape to kepp my dummy from detatching again. therefore: i can't adjust it anymore
so please if u are looking for a dummy that will fit the average girl's body well and that will stay in tact, do NOT get this dummy

I decided to order this dressform, so that I would no longer have to struggle with measurements and guesswork. Right now, I do not use patterns, and I envisioned draping fabric on the dress form, pinning and sizing everything up, like magic.
Well, I am still trying to figure all of this out. This dress form is handy, though I am not as pleased with it as I hoped I would be. It is very easy to put together, though I would be happier if it was heavier, sturdier-not so easy to tip or rock. I like that it spins on the stand. I thought the dials would be easier to use-they seem to want to pop back, spring-action, when the dials are turned up/out too high. Alas, I do not find that this model "models" my proportions exactly-you cannot expand butt, without also expanding the hips. I think the upper portion of the dressform will be more useful for fitting. Guess I will have to work with it, it has some limitations, but it also has some advantages that I have yet to explore.

An ideal sewing companion, this fully adjustable dress form allows for pattern adjustments before cutting, better fittings and alterations, and an opportunity to creatively work with fabrics and see how they will drape and hang on the body. Twelve dials make it easy to change the dimensions of the body, including settings at the neck for smooth collars and necklines. The height also adjusts, and a hem gauge comes included to mark the hemline for skirts and dresses. In addition, the unit's fabric cover makes it possible to pin items onto the form. Its size range measures 39 to 45 inches at the bust, 30 to 36-1/2 inches at the waist, and 40 to 46 inches at the hip. The form requires basic assembly, but no tools are required. An instruction book comes included. Overall, the dress form measures 14 by 9-1/4 by 60 inches.

I have used my dress form for 4 pieces of clothing now. It works really well. It really takes the guess work out of sewing if you aren't into using patterns all the time (it works really well for pattern use too)!
My only complaint is that although the size is adjustable, the shape is not. Not all women are hourglasses or curvy in all the same areas and I think that this would better accommodate all shapes if the actual waistline was adjustable.
Overall, I am really glad I bought this, as I am an avid clothing maker.

Singer DF150 Adjustable Dress Form, Sizes 10-16, Red Review

I like my Singer DF150 Adjustable Dress Form. The felt cover will be great for draping, since fabrics really cling to it and I am very impressed with the hem guide. It is somewhat difficult to adjust the height, but not impossible, and much easier if you take the body off the stand first. I bought this small dressform based on my three primary measurements (33-25-38), but I was disappointed to discover that her underbust at smallest is 28 1/2 inches, about 1 1/2 inches larger than mine, so dresses I've made to fit me will not zip up on her. Also, her shoulders are 15" wide, and neck 13 1/2" around, at the least. So much for using this form for fitting my truly small upper body. At least I can use her for hems, when I make dresses for some of my friends, and I can even adjust her to her larger settings to fit my fiancé's measurements (He wears a 40R jacket).

Singer DF150_G Adjustable Dress Form, Gray, Small Review

This dress form is very convenient. The multiple dials give you a lot of control in getting the right measurements, and the fabric-covered surface lets you pin materials to the form.
However, there is one major drawback. You can't use the form to create tight-fitting tops or dresses, because the chest shape is not true to life! In real life, breast width transitions gradually from top to bottom, but at the bottom it cuts sharply in where the breast ends and the rib cage begins (under the cup). On this dress form though, the breasts thin out gradually on the underside as well, making the ribcage in that area disproportionately wide. With the waist and breast measurements set exactly to my own, it is *impossible* to even put my bra on the form!
It would be great for loose shirts and dresses, but keep in mind that the chest area is messed up.
